I Am Not Lazy

If only I could take back the milestones. 

These skills I was forced to hone. 

I wish I could be that struggling child once more. 

Even with my words, there was pain I could never define at my core. 

And even if there was a way to communicate-

There would be nothing they could do to force my weakness to abate. 

That weakness was a product of all my efforts. 

But no one believed it- being called lazy hurts. 

What I would give to be called abnormal. 

So that at least my treatment could be formal!
