I am dreaming

Just before the days advance into the cold snowy winter,
The early sunset colors the skyline in crimson.
I am dreaming of the one whom I loved in the past,
I am hearing the music under which we have danced.

I am dreaming about the youth of yore,
I have dreams of a first love, I am dreaming of her.
I have dreams of the first kiss, and forgotten sweet pain,
Deja vu resurrecting comes back to the heart yet again.

Wild birds are flying south to escape winter's terror,
Cleaving the sky in a flock's wedge, like the tip of an arrow,
And I follow the birds, flying back to my youth,
Reuniting with Spring, leaving the realm of dark truth.
