I Am a Storm
I will go through hell for a person I care deeply about.
I'm still learning where to draw the line,
but my experiences have made me stronger.
Has opened the doors to a better me.
I can walk through flames unscathed,
through thorns without a scratch.
Though angry tongues spit acid,
turn my skin to barren flesh,
my touch remains gentle and unbiased.
Soft and comforting.
A breeze.
Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop and breathe
Because I feel myself slipping,
back into toxic habits,
And dangerous prospects.
My happiness is worth more than serpent tongues.
I'm worth more than poisoned lips,
and shadowed truths.
Despite my sacrifices,
I don't owe anyone anything.
I stand independent.
Powerful and bold.
A storm.
