I Am a Child
I am a child
Lost and afraid
Walking in a wilderness
Without any aid
A voice came from Heaven
Comforting and low
Saying, I'll walk by your side
Where ere, you may go
I'll hold your hand and kiss your cheek
Knowing as a child you are mild and meek
I'll tell you stories old, but true
Those told by my Father and now I tell you
While walking in shadows, be not afraid
I will be there, to come to your aid
I'll surround you with peace and, also with love
And strength I will give you, from Heaven above
You're important to me
I really do care
I'd miss you my child
If you were not there
In time when you need me
I'm as close as can be
It takes just a minute
To get down on your knee
My father and I
Will always stand by
Should troubles befall you
On us, please rely!
