I Am

I am
I am the essence of beauty wrought over time
Formed and sculptured out of obscurity and into perfection
I am a flower a daisy of a sort

I am hope that is seen in the future
I can foretell your tomorrow
I am strength in a portrait of joy
Profiling it's countenance on my face

I am fear when I shed tears and put them a bottle
How can I explain?
I am my mother’s daughter and my daddy’s baby

I am anger because of things that really matter
Why not why won’t they do better?

I am a mother to my children
Because of our love the birds sing
The hills valleys and mountains all agree
In accord so do the rivers and streams that are behind the shade tree

I am all that I should be
I have all that I need
I am superior
And I am you, and I am me

I am the reason that I wrote this poem
Because I believe I can
I still believe I will always need to hold on to God’s loving hand.
