I Am

I am a book
My words are hard to read
But they are there
And so am I.

I am a lamp post
I shine in the darkness
You do not notice I am there
But I am.

I am a bird
I am in numbers that can not be told
I am left unseen
But I am still here.

I am dust
I am with you everyday
I am left undisturbed
But still I stay.

crystal, this is one of the best of yours I have read. I just love this kind of poetry! Glad you enjoyed my stanza on the desert part of my Rain poem. LUv, Andrea

Reminds me of Neil Diamond's "I am, I cried" Happy new year, and I pray you will always write and share your poetry with us.
