I Am...

I am a poet writing of my pain
I am a person living a life of shame
I am your daughter, hiding my depression
I am your sister, striving to make a great impression
I am your friend acting like I'm fine
I am a dreamer, wishing this life, wasn't mine
I am a girl who struggles with suicide
I am a teenager, pushing her tears aside

This is deep and something that everyone will go through at some point in time, the extremes of emotion are a curse to the heart, but would the heart exist if it were not for emotion? Thanks for writing something raw :) much love and respect. Lance

This was a very strong poem! I think most of us can find something in these lines we have faced at some point in life. I love the title, it says so much in the poem. Wonderful work.

suicide. .im not so sure. why the suicide? what is the reason so life ending?. . must be a reason. . it's better to express your depression, holding it back is only hurting you, as you can see. it makes it the more depressing.. -Always&Forever Lynette
