I Am

For some I am your neighbor, that lives down the street. For others I am the one, that you are so afraid to meet.

For some I am your postman, that you wave to passing by. For others I am your stereotype, that you've been brainwashed to think that's why.

For some I am your friend, that you confide in and relate. For others I am your fear, that you teach your children to resent and hate.

For some I am your driver, that you speak to everyday. For others I am your degenerate, that you ridicule along the way.

For some I am your responder, that you call on when there's trouble. For others I am your blind spot, in the midst of the struggle.

For some I am your colleague, that you respect in a suit. For others I am your thug, that you indiscriminately repute.

For some I am your police officer, that you count on to serve and protect. For others I am your George Floyd... that was murdered with a knee to the neck.
