I Against I
Desolate state of mind, this fate of mine
Mines blast, take me off the beaten path so that I can find
My destination, 'cause I’ve been waitin’
To uncover this talent-latent
Lay dormant, I’ve been patient
Now I’m a patient
I can’t endure this
I felt secure when they told me that He would cure this
So I mean no disrespect sir
But I’m taking things into my own hands, this is not contempt, sure
It was once complacency facin’ me, but I need to be more efficient
Self-sufficient, to the adjacent be
Me, myself, and the few who believe
In this optimistic view of change
Please, call me naïve
Because conceived was the thought of unity
You and me.
Community.
An Opportunity to weave us all together
To a smooth texture
Release a sweet nectar into this sector
An atmosphere riddled by lies; deceit
Call the protector
Defeat of brothers, for another
Unworthy cause
And to those of you who know, my word is bond
Just stay true, I’ll see you beyond
