Hysterical Blindness
HYSTERICAL BLINDNESS
I am lost in hysterical blindness
I could do with a bit of kindness
My cat Smudge died today
My blue skies have all turned grey
She was my companion for 19 years
Now all I have left is tears
My heart is broken, will it ever mend?
Smudge was my little furry friend
Hysterical blindness has taken over
I wonder if I’ll ever recover
Time heals wounds, that’s what they say
Will this grief ever go away?
I just want to go to bed
I need to rest my weary head
And in the morning when I wake
Maybe I’ll see this was all a mistake
My hysterical blindness will get better
You can be sure I will never forget her.
