Hymn of the heart

“Be not led by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” – Roy T. Bennett

Supremely silent, so succulently swept,
Oh heart of mine, incumbently wept.
Furtive floral fronds forever flowing.
Sheer delight of guiltless tears are slowing.

Grasp my hand that I might feel you.
Heartfelt hints help heal horizons hue.
Composing the chorus a poet bleeds.
Sycamore scents sending somber seeds.

Oh heart of mine, the gladness peeked.
The song my soul never seeked.
Rapture reminiscing rivalled respite.
Dictating dialect, dawn's dearest delight.

Destiny delivers drab dust dreaming.
Soul seeks splendor, sweet scent streaming.
The song my soul never sought.
Hear these hibiscus hymns hauntingly caught.

To listen to the trill of this heart's hymn.
The notes of ecstasy filled to the brim.
Oh heart of mine your Janus faced genus,
a violin verse between venom and Venus.

The crescendo hit, I kissed an opera octave.
A lilting tune blissfully reversed to enslave.
Love exploded revealing lavender so vital,
resistance released rallentando reduced recital.

Oh heart of mine my hymn is ending.
Warmed with wishful waiting was wending.
Culminating coda, classic cadence concludes.
Perfume from the musical bouquet exudes.

Ohhh wowww! I can absolutely smell the fragrance of the perfume that exudes from the musical bouquet! How lovely is that?! Every line is lusciously layered with alliteration and mesmerizing imagery ~ especially that part, "The crescendo hit, I kissed an opera octave. A lilting tune blissfully reversed to enslave. Love exploded revealing lavender so vital, resistance released rallentando reduced recital" so breathtaking! Love the musical wordsmithery here! So captivating and dreamy.. Your pre-ordained phrases gave me inspiration Hiya. The poem just flowed from my fingers, as they waited to use your fanciful words in the hymn. Your enthusiasm for my poem and 2nd place in your contest is so gratifying. Thank you. ✨✨
