Hymn of a Sunrise Poetess

Each day the sunrise voice whispers softly:
"Panagiota, reach for your pen!"
I resist and huddle under plaid winter covers
just wishing this voice would please, hush!
Are their no soul plugs for our lyric souls?

My creaking bones want to sleep but my heart
whispers, "Oh, nay, rise thee!"
So, I give into these craven feelings to write.
Hobble to my sweet kitchen, with my body in
resistance, yet making French coffee, even so.

I can write, is about all I can do, as my eye strength
and very slow typing prevent me from commenting
to my sweet friends, Do not think, I am ignoring you.
I have goals, as you, and I do post regularly.
That is....if well I can see!

A much better poetess, I so desire to become.
So learning classical poetry is my goal. This will take time.
Please bear with me in my soul?

May love and forbearance for all, be our goals.
May Angels inspire you and your God guide you!

                       Love, Pangie

First of all, let me just say that your title is absolutely gorgeous! Pangie, I am so glad you give in to your muse whispering "Panagiota, reach for your pen!" - "rise thee!" Your beautiful poetry needs to be released, there's no holding back your passionate heart or your heartfelt artistry, my friend! Write on, dear poetess! We all improve the more we write and read poetry, and it does take time.. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Suxan reading great poetry spurs me on I am a fan of EE Cummings. PS does not list him. A shame. He can expose the human spirit without moving imagery. He exposes the nakedness of the soul.thats my goal. Upcoming.and always has been. Truth is sunshine, all the rest? I don't know.there are millions of poets- it's fun to read the good and tha atrocious. You are too generous to me in your comments One of the best poets here is you. Pangie xx

"soul plugs for our lyric souls" Haha, I have often wished for these when I'm tired and wish to sleep. Your poem describes that tug-of-war so well, Pangie. I commend you for writing from your heart and for striving to improve upon your God-given talents. Hugs ~ John

We relate well. Here I am 1t 3:10 and am tired. I am so excited about the 1.701 since I first came here. I like giving myself my own trophy. These last few days near killed me. The world may be goffy and I wept a lot this week over the shameful conduct and unabashed voters burning voters ballots. Life has plenty to write about, John. Listening to Jazz Nusic really helps..hard to write without it. Pangiexx Eddie is heartbroken there is no baseball. Darn proud of Califonians going to the Strrets. Pangie xx

Anne-Lise...great philosophy and I did write this from my heart)) all my poems are from my heart only! Words, forms, imagery are nothing without heart. They are grocery lists that don't resonate. At least not with me! )) Thank you for caring...Pangie xx

I think you're being too hard on yourself, remember you write for yourself, you're not here to please the masses as you said. If what you write you are happy with then thats good enough in my book. So write on, never give up. Tom

Bob, I wish I experienced acceptance here..but I do not. Even with the POTDs...and other accolades..and the amount of Poems produced, I do not. Thus I think I am a crummy poet. I realize now many have been here for Years...I am not here that long, some here like what I do.i will never write to please the masses. That was fine in stand up.))) esteemed? Not me... You are dreaming my friend! TBA?... to be avoided best describes me or read but do not Comnent to this one))))) LOL Thanks, Bob for being suppirtive...and encouraging, it matters Pangie.xx
