Hurt People

Hurt people tend to hurt people They need someone else to suffer Shattered hearts just longing To be made of something tougher Perhaps they aren't used to kindness Or faith in humanity was stripped away Maybe everyone kept walking out When they were being begged to stay Hurt people live in the hopelessness You can't see the pain, left in scars upon their house They cover it with a mask of "happiness" While their hearts are a hallowed place Hurt is kind of like a broken bone Even when yourself is the one to blame You can always mend the physicality But it's never quite the same
