Hurry, Get Out Before God's Vengeance Comes - Genesis 19: 15

Lot received a divine message
it had urgency in its voice
with angelic tones proving divine
leaving Lot's family with little choice

The warning was for their own city
God was on His way to destroy
hurry they were told without delay
God's anger's sure it's no empty ploy

Lot had his wife and two daughters
that was his family under his care
if they didn't obey they'd be swept away
so they had ample warning to beware

Hurry, get out before God's vengeance comes
the angelic voices spoke loud and clear
God still speaks even to this lost world
like Lot they must take heed to get in gear

("With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, "Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished." Genesis 19:15)

Hi Gordon, this story always fascinated me - if your husband tells you that God says don't look back why did she? God was about to destruct Sodom and Gomorrah and spared Lot and his family but his silly wife looked back and became a pillar of salt! Lot in Genesis is a great part of the Bible to read. Well penned my friend. Blessings, Jennifer.

Hi Jenny, yes it's a fascinating story which fed many a sermon over the years. The reason she looked back was she was more fond of the world than she was of obeying God.Glad you liked it and trust all's well I here you've got a lot of restrictions on SA especially with face masks. Take care,Blessings,Gordon
