Hungry Waves
With grasping reaching violence,
angry waves rise from ocean's floor.
Against them there is no defense;
the hungry waves attack the shore.
There is no way they can be stopped,
as, hungering, land ward they soar,
first raised to heights and then they're dropped;
the hungry waves attack the shore.
They batter at the lone light house,
while its condition we deplore.
Evacuate the staff before
the hungry waves attack the shore.
They deposit on the beaches,
masses and tangles we deplore;
finding paths through all the breaches,
the hungry waves attack the shore.
