Hungry Eyes

I'm waiting for the rains to come
and refresh the dried up ground.
I'm waiting for the grass to change
to green instead of brown.

I'm waiting for the sun to shine
and warm the earth below.
I'm waiting for the trees to bud
so I can watch them grow.

I'm waiting for the winds to cease
and the temperatures to rise.
I'm waiting for the first Spring day
to soothe my Hungry Eyes.
