Hummingbirds In December

Hummingbirds in December
It almost seems too fake
I glance aimlessly out the window
Almost always by mistake
I’m not sure why it happens
And why they aren’t migrating
I just know somehow it’s you
And my mind starts predating
The pierce right through the heart-
Is not from you being gone
It’s from living without you day by day
Repeat and respawn
My soul just cries and aches
But when I see them hover near
I can’t help but laugh
And know you really are near
Please don’t stop ever
Follow me wherever I go
It’s all I have what’s left of you
And I just always want to know
