Humility and Purity
In this walk here with God
seeking to live in a godly manner
in the daily battle with ungodliness
God's love covers me by His banner
To be filled with greater effect
of real humility of heart
learn well from John the Baptist
who showed this trait not in part
Remind one self of God's great mercy
to save me despite all my sin
that being humble is God's true gift
may I seek this working from within
To have a mind utterly pure
that would be simply divine
a thought pattern with no sin
filling the head purely sublime
O to have such a change
pure and humble wish to be
spiritually changing increasingly so
O wish it could be me!
