Humility

Humility is like a lofty tree That steadily keeps on growing The more she reaches to the sky The more her poise is showing And up to her the other trees Keep looking as she grows She keeps her branches close to her She’s tactful, ’cause she knows She will not keep the sunny rays From shining on the rest She will not let the cooling rain Fall only on her chest And there she stands, but once a while She sways a bit, not much The wind will come and tease her But she won’t indulge in such Because she is considerate She’ll stand there and endure The elements, whatever they may be She’ll stay quiet and demure And when the other trees around Will start to change their ways And look not like they were before She stands right there and sways She’ll do it without arrogance Also, not to be seen And all the trees give due respect To this noble Evergreen.
