How To Love Yourself

Accept yourself just as you are,
For you really are unique.
Be positive in all you do,
Be gentle when you speak.
Push away the scary thoughts,
Replace with ones of pleasure.
Love yourself for who you are
For you really are a treasure.
Praise yourself when you can
For all the things you do,
For praise will lift the spirit
And love will shine on through.
Be supportive of yourself,
Reach out when you're in need,
For friends and family will all help
They want you to succeed.
Take care of your body,
Cherish your vitality,
Eat good food and exercise
To give you energy.
And before you go to bed each night
Give thanks to up above,
For all the blessings you receive
That show you all Gods love.

Thank you Hannah. It's not selfish to put ourselves first, it helps us to love everyone and everything in life more.

What a lovely poem. Self love is important but hard to do as we are our own biggest critics.

Thank you Yasmin. To be able to love truly I believe we need to love ourselves, but you are right, sometimes we are our own enemies.

Well God gave us our marvellous bodies and minds, so we should all, try at least, to love what we've got and honour ourselves sometimes.

Beautifully written, Elizabeth. So much truth to this inspiring poem. We must NOT be in love with ourselves, but we should most definitely love ourselves and take care of our bodies in which that lord has so gratefully given to us. Excellent write! Very nice to meet you...Charlie

Thank you Ann. Sometimes people give so much of themselves that they run themselves ragged. My sister is feeling under the weather at the moment, she is a prime example of someone who needs to put her needs first. xx
