How To Live

Find a hammer and chisel
Locate a granite mountain
Carve a hole to call your home
Become your best hermit
Or caveman or “cave-person”
(To be politically correct)

Take that same hammer and chisel
Remove that chip from your shoulder
(To be the best you can)
Find a bolder when you get old
Roll it in front of the entrance
(Your home is now a tomb
See you soon)

Good luck with the surgery Earl, I wish you a speedy recovery, and that you come out with as many eyes as you went in with, and better.

Hi Maureen, Thanks! My professors in college told me I have a sardonic side to my writings. I'm sure they are right. All things are game. All subjects are open when you are a writer. So glad you enjoyed it. I'm going in for an operation on my eyes tomorrow morning. (I have two by the way.) I hope that I will be able to see and write. I enjoy the beauty and ugly in life. Please say a prayer for me if you are in to such things. If you do not hear from me you will know why. Have a wonderful day. Earl
