How are you?
"How are you?" has become a greeting rather than a genuine inquiry about how someone is doing. We live in a world where no one really seems to care about other people, unless they're getting something out of it. This is sad and unfortunate.
I hope that you are genuinely well and happy. May July be the start of a beautiful life.

How are you?
It is said like a greeting
No one waits for the answer
They walk on by or carry on speaking
What has become of us?
A society that is so broken
Where people hide behind screens
And social masks of smiles as tokens
Where is the depth of care?
Where are the true friends and family?
Where are people who are genuine?
Who want you and not your money?
Why are we so disconnected?
Why aren't we appreciating the good?
Why are we passing one another by?
Why are so many moments misunderstood?
So many people are afraid to speak
To say how they really feel
Afraid and alone and weary
Of their circumstances and needs
Is it too much to ask
That people slow down and take some time?
Try to show genuine interest and compassion
For their fellow humans and their lives?
How are you?
I hope you're feeling blessed
May you enjoy your life fully
And know that you're the best
In someone's heart
In someone's mind
In someone's home
In someone's life
Because every single
One of us
Deserves to feel cared for
Deserves to be loved
How are you?
Let's ask this carefully
Be genuine and connected
Remembering we're one big family
May we all feel acknowledged
May we all feel seen and heard
Create a better society globally
Where we uplift instead of hurt
