House of Brick
HOUSE OF BRICK
I have lived lies before you
I have lived lives since
The old ones all adore you
The new one just ignores you
Within his newly finished fence
Once, I built a house of straw
That loved to get its fix
From that wreckage, built a house of cards
And in that aftermath, sticks
Now I’m thinking, maybe, bricks
Hope for a sunny day
But plan for the storm
The chaos of wings
As the butterfly stings
Preparation keeps the blizzard warm
