Hot Sun

hot sun
lazy afternoon
children's phrases catch across the yard
hot sun
lazy water flows
in the creek
no buzzing
no birds
just the silent sun
coaxing spring along.

I can feel it ... your meter flowed just like that stream ... uninterupted and beautifully slow.

Lovely images, Veronica! (It's been over 90 degrees here in FL for the last two days and it's only April -- sigh.) As a child, I enjoyed the sun more. You brought back nice memories of happy days. Love, Carolyn

You've got me smiling with this poem. Reminds me of my childhood days. Enjoyed the view. Karen
