Horizontal Line

What is it about
the horizontal line

-------------------

that pulls us to it?

My ex-wife was
- (is) so fond of -

Viewing the horizon
of sandy beaches
as if it was - (is)
the edge of heaven

I also think I can
discern something,
something important,
distant - over there

So too, the long prairie
line to a blue storm
to come soon, tomorrow

It is no different, no
more sure to allude,
in its poignancy
at the edge of vision

How's that for
some poetic ending?
