Hoping For a Better Past
A lifetime of dreams, failures and successes
Agonizing energy spent
Looking in past failure's 'rear view mirror'
Failures following, looming larger and larger,
Encompassing all of me
I am wishing...hoping... for a better past.
The present moment, the key to my future,
Consumed, as I grieve my 'loss of dreams',
Thoughts focus on past failure’s 'rear view mirror',
The past, forever evolving into nothingness,
Encompassing all of me
I am wishing...hoping...for a better past.
FEAR, is only "Fantasized Events Appearing Real”
However, difficult to remember,
Each fearful thought, I ask, "Is it true?"
Freedom, from fearful thoughts…how liberating
As I disappear into the 'rear view mirror'
Less and less of me exists in the present moment
I am wishing...hoping...for a better past.
