Hopes On Hold

I look way back on times so great our lives so good, there's no debate. But change did come, it did occur a cancer came without a cure. Took from me all that mattered my life in shambles, completely shattered. I sit alone with thoughts of you not really knowing what to do. I gaze upon star-lit skies do wonder where my true love lies. Religion plays, no time was spent agnostic views, is how I'm bent. Perhaps a chance again for us 'tis faith, dictates, in god we trust.

Thank you so very much Heidi! I don't know how you have time to read them, with all the writing you do?

Absolutely heartbreaking in so many ways Mark - from reading your other poems I interpret this as religion as being the cancer that tore your lives apart:-( hugs jan xx

Jan, actually cancer took my wife from me. I am not a religious man, so I can only hope there is a second chance for us. Thank you for reading and commenting, much appreciated!
