Hope's Light

Moonlight whispers a fading song children listen and sing along mothers rock sweet babes in their arms praying God would keep them from harm. Times are hard and winter is cruel poor ones suffer with too little food humbly they ask and humbly they wait calling to God for charity's sake. Whispers of love are heard in light's morn sweet angels come to feed the forlorn clothes for the little ones, eyes shine bright hope springs anew and brings new life. Daylight's promises reach far and wide men trust God that He will provide strength from above calms doubts and fears whispering prayers that heaven will hear. Written on 2/2/2017

Laura, I could definitely sense the "hope" in your poem and wish you had read the contest rules or the reminder blogs I posted. Entries were to have 8-14 lines. Otherwise, your beautiful poem would have placed higher. I hoped you would read the contest rules or one of my blogs reminding contestants that there should be 8-14 lines. Had it been shorter, it would definitely have placed higher. Congratulations on your win. Best wishes, Carolyn

A beautiful and inspiring poem, Laura. I often wonder why I worry so much when I know God is in control and hearing our prayers. :) L&B, Rhonda
