Hopeful Certainty

The future not embracing
The past long drawn apart
    confusion!
Mist!
                           Blindness!
A mirage would bee too hopeful
Only if I can see one
The path behind seems blurred
My pursuit I have lost
                                        lost!
                     forgotten!
                             unclear!
            unreal!
                               senseless!
Where did I begin?
                   madness!
          foolishness!
               insanity!
None of these
I started for a purpose
A one or many known not
The way back unsure
                Would I be lost forever?
Where no food to digest
     No shelter to dwell
There is a certainty
Death
             Death!
That death is only certain
     A relief
               Satisfaction
                         resolution
Something at least is certain
    Death
A destination sure of
