Hope

The scent of danger everywhere,
no place to run, not here not there.
Most lost their hope, all is gone
their faces grey, their strength drawn.
no longer laughter in any eye
it seems their youth had passed them by.
Though their gloom is but a mask
removing it will be no easy task.
       There, in the distance!
there is a flash, there is a shimmer
Far away their is a glimmer
        What is it ?
you may ask, that can remove my peoples mask,
what stoppes them and says not to mope,
It is but a gleaming hope.
