Hoorahs Hoorays

HOORAHS, HOORAYS
Fill up my days

A fresh picked bundle
Of N/A’S

I chuckle
As I shake my head

Just happy knowing
They’ve been read

Don't lose your focus, John...which is writing your usual really good stuff! I always keep reminding myself that a N/A on a contest poem is merely the opinion of ONE person. Think of the 50 people who really enjoyed the poem!

I used to refer to them as Not quite Perfect....

I rarely enter contests, I would be dismayed to get an N/A. Not everyone can bear such a defeat. I just wrote two pantoums for Autumn, but I will not enter one of the for the contest. Perhaps it's my disposition of old age

Alas, Victor, I still enjoy the thrill of the chase even though the only thing I've caught recently is the flu

I have a bundle of N/As, John. My reaction is pretty much the same as yours. A chuckle, or a frown, but then it's time to turn the page.

I know, having sponsored and "judged"(aka picking the ones I liked best) contests I am well aware of the vagaries of poetic interpretation.
