Honesty
How can you ask a question
Just to have it thrown in your face,
Or the answers an obvious chance for,
Any lie to come take its place...
The eyes may fall and the lips may shudder,
As something parts from their lips,
Denying it all in words they stutter,
While truth keeps losing its grip...
Sometimes you wait a moment or two,
Since we all have made a mistake,
Giving them time not given to you,
So they may see what it takes..
It's the fear of what you may think,
That's adding to their reaction,
If what you hear's not within sync,
Then let them do the subtraction...
So once they learn what honesty means,
Begin to trust what they say,
But if you discern its not in their genes,
Then to them its just a cliche...
