Homesick

I long for my home when I’m away But I’m determined to leave anyway So I’m going to pack my bags and leave this town I put on my make up and wear my crown. I miss my bed now that I’m away Knowing that I won’t be home till Sunday So I searched for a few pieces of stationery For only through words I find sanctuary. My plane will leave at seven In that foreign land blessings are given I really want to stay But it’s better to go anyway. I will surely cry now that I’m away But I know I don’t have to leave someday So while that sun is out I’ll make hay I’ll do anything no matter what they say So worry about me no more For I am in the good graces of the future.
