* Homelessness
< sitting on the park bench.
alone, thinking about
< going back to the empty cardboard box.
inside, their soul has no home here.
< outside their body lays sleeping, alone.
in the empty cardboard box.
< water is plentiful, but food is scare.
it must be hunted, so the hunter goes hunting.
< through the filthy streets, finding discarded food
lining the streets, enough to feed the armies.
< enough to last a lifetime.
< the streets are lonely, no one wants to be there.
who would if they had the choice to choose.
< most are here due to circumstances beyond themselves.
fate, dealing them the wrong hand this time round.
< sitting down thinking about going back to the box.
< life is hard, a fight some times we can win,
it takes us before we have a chance to begin.
< no one wants to be here walking these streets alone.
if they had been asked, they would have chosen a bed,
< to lay their sleepy, tired, exhausted head.
