Homeless Veterans

I approach you with these fragile hands, begging for a bite to eat. You see it's been hard for me, living in these streets... Life's been cruel to me !! I haven't slept in weeks, haven't showered in months. I get kicked and spit on. I'm walking around in these crowded streets, alienated like I'm a disease. I'm a bum is what they call me. I wasn't born to live and die this way... But society has given up on me as I lay here dying in these streets... With no food to eat !! No family back home to call my own.... Just another causality neglected by the people I defended in war. It's not my fault I came home all screwed up, and in the end this is where I ended up. God bless America Written by: Poet Shi

Casualty of the hostility abroad or the hostility at home. It's tragic!
