Homeless Love

These cold streets of life have me struggling hard,
begging for love where ever I can find someone willing to give.

Endlessly roaming from one place to another,
someone please tell me is this the way I am destined to live.

I give my all totally unselfishly and without remorse,
not knowing that my attempts go unnoticed, unheard, and unseen.

How can you hold on to me with no intentions of giving,
how is it possible to do this to another human being?

At times I seek a shelter that will hold me,
hoping that it will temporarily fulfill my hearts wants and desires.

But my mind strays back to you and what you have done,
you're the reason my love is homeless and I have chosen to retire.

You take and you eat of the love I have provided,
yet I have never seen you offer this type of love back.

So my love still roams these streets with know place to go,
looking for a home to place it back on life's track.
