Homeless

Missed the ones Not seen Sleeping in the culvert By the stream Sounds carrying Rodents scurrying The ones not seen Furry Measuring each tiny step Silence thundering on Quietly rising Carrying on Doing what must To fit in Belong Surviving The multitude reaching out Missing the ones Not seen Unheard in a silent scream

I thank God every night that I, my children, and my grandchildren have a roof over our heads and food on our tables. And I'm not even sure that God exists. Homelessness! Such an unimaginably horror -- and reality for so many millions of people, especially children -- and yes, getting worse every day. A touching poem, Kim. Well done!

Thank you for your comment. Homeless is a pervasive horror that many people have trained to overlook. If you can't see something it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, the homeless now live in every community around the world and an agreed upon method of helping has not been inacted.

Hello Kim, this is beautiful piece on a homelessness, beautifully put. I feel very sad when I see it. It frightens me that it could get worse. Have a great day, my friend.

You our expressing the fear I see coming. Thank you for your comment. There is an old child's story called Stone Soup which I am continuing to encourage people to read. This would be at least a way to help people get fed.
