Home for my heart

A visitor in my own skin stopping by as a guest
Rented out happiness with no permanent address

As searched for stability I found a place to invest
This pulsating pound of flesh beating in my chest

Courage now coursing eternally through my veins
Allowing me to break free from a history of chains

Gave myself permission to surrender my soul
Rooting resiliency deep in the core of my bones

Moved in full time now with a sense of feeling whole
Since my fleeting heart finally found a forever home
