Holy, Silent Night
For those who believe
That religion has its place.
There's a handful of primary
Faiths, the masses can face.
Whether Christian, or Muslim,
Or even Hindu . . .
We mustn't forget the Buddhist,
And, of course, the Jew.
Sometimes, they're eloquently,
Referred to as the 'Big Five'.
Yet many more exist around
This spiritual hive.
They share some common ground,
Of behavior and belief.
Trying to answer much unknown,
And providing some relief.
Yet while fundamentally, they
Diverge, creating some loss.
With turmoil and great conflict,
That's difficult to cross.
What's lacking is some tolerance,
Even respect to a degree.
Where understanding and acceptance,
Allows all to be free.
Because my mind won't accept
That God wants a divide.
Since unity is the ultimate message,
And a truly, powerful guide.
Can we possibly look beyond,
The differences that are seen?
To a time when humanity loves,
Those all in between.
The lessons that are taught, provide
Moral boundaries, both good and bad.
With a rich history that exemplifies,
All the consequences to be had.
