HOLY HOOPS
HOLY HOOPS
In the court of Hades, the spirits wailed,
Satan's clutches seemed to have prevailed.
But then descended Jesus, bold and true,
With a ball in hand, signifying victory for me & you,
And with an ordained mission to pursue.5
He dribbled through the chambers dark and grim,
With the world's weight weighing on Him,
His presence causing hellish lights to dim.
With each swift move & each powerful leap,
He challenged Satan, making demons weep.¹°
As the two faced off in a cosmic flame,
Which is said to have been one-sided game
The hoop became the symbol of Jesus' aim.
The crowd of lost souls watched in awe,
As Jesus made his victorious huge score.¹5
With a thunderous slam, the ball found its place,
Satan's grip on the underworld began to efface.
The ball was the key to unlock the chains,
The rim was the door of salvation to human race,
As Jesus dunks to victory, breaking hell's remains.²°
From the depths He rose, triumphant and free,
The ultimate undisputed victor for all to see.
With a leap so high, he ascended in grace,
Having conquered death, sin, & Hades' embrace.²4
So let the holy hoops be a symbol to us all,
Of the victory of Jesus, who answered the call.
For on that holy day, a truth became clear,
That Jesus is the victor, there's no need for fear.²8
