Hollow Vessel

A new day begins in my life,
The days of old long since gone,
The glory, happiness, the excitement,
Now just old and forgotten memories,
Swept under the carpet of time.

A soul so vibrant with life,
Now left filled with a void of darkness,
His inner beast in a dream-like state,
Wondering if it will ever wake,
And reignite the old flames within his heart.

A man who has no meaning,
Who once dreamed of the skys the limit,
Now a broken man with no passion,
Having to succumb to an existence of a drone.

Hope is one thing that he still holds,
Though like a flame, it is slowly fading,
One day it shall go out, and end it all,
He will become nothing but,
A hollow vessel.
