Holiday Dreaming

Silver tip tree – intense smell of pine
Late December - Christmas time

Red scarf, gloves – boots, trench coat
Holiday music – felt with each note

Steamy eggnog latte - Java cafe
Candy cane martini – made my way

Glitter packages - dog tied with bow
Cinnamon candles- hanging mistletoe

Sugar cookies – stacked to the roof
Coconut bars – suit my sweet tooth

Dreams of a log cabin - snow all around
Fireplace crackling – the only sound

Fog in the distance – beyond the lake
Icicles sparkle – each morning I wake

Published writer – poet; wealthy
Banjo player – thin and healthy

Fresh, crisp, chilly air – visible breath
Having all I need - nothing to dream left

First part is real– second a fantasy
One day perhaps – all will be a reality
