Holding On

I'm holding on. My mind won't win. I'll wait until dawn, I'll make my move then. I want to be set free. Look this way, Come and save me. Take me away. I'm not strong enough. Can I take your hand? My demons are too tough. I can barely stand. I won't bring you down, I just need to be saved. You wore that crown, And I misbehaved. One last time. I'm going crazy. It's a tough climb, And the mountains are hazy. I'm holding on tight. Don't look away. I hope I'll win this fight, But it won't be today. Written on April 25, 2017
