Holding On

I know this is real,
I’m spinning in circles again,

I don’t know which way to turn,
Or if I should turn at all,

Because I’m still holding on,
I never let go,

I remember the rain,
The ever-biting cold,

I fought it off through the night,
With naught but your smile in my heart,

And I’d do it again,
A thousand more times,

If you so much as hinted,
That it meant something to you…

I love you…

James - welcome to poetry soup. This is a lovely poem and reminds of a rainy night when my husband and I first met and we shared his umbrella. Keep up the lovely writing. Best wishes Janette
