Holding hands 
Vow

It was so many years ago that they met and a spark was ignited that turned into a flame .
They dated and fell in love and became the beginning of  a new life as they became husband and wife .
Every where they went , they would always hold hands  and vowed that this is the way it would always be .
When she became pregnant and about to give birth  he held her hand for all its worth .
They always held hands when they were together and overcame even the worst of stormy weather .
They had a son and daughter and raised them well as everyone could tell .
Even the short time that he was disabled,  they would hold hands at the kitchen table .
They would hold hands when shopping or walking down the street and the people's stares they would meet .
They would always smile , laugh and joke - and at their ways people would poke .
They would hold hands in the best and worst of times  and became like two magnets pulling one to another and for them there were no others .
Even when retirement came - their lives was always the same .
Walking hand in hand in their magical wonderland .
Time began to take its toll as they got very old .
It was the only time that you would see them grin as dementia started to set in .
They would face the challenges of what would be 
( losing of memor I es and reality) 
He said :  we held hands when we met and we will hold hands untill our death "  we will climb the stairs to heaven holding each other's hands and God will understand .
We made a vow to one another that we will forever be with each other .
Now that we are old and dementia has taken its toll 
I will hold your hand when you tend to forget and remind you of our best times yet , and you will do the same for me till the ends of eternity .
When we get to heaven everything will be clear and all our family and friends will begin to cheer .
   To our children , please don't cry for we will be together by and by
