Holding Hands

In the blink of my eye
You are taken from me
Serving god queen and country
And where were you

Not by my side
Taken at night
Under the stars we loved to watched
Holding hands

Sleeping in late
Cuddling and snuggling
Tangled in the covers
Holding hands

Relaxed and serene
Watching tv
No need to talk
Holding hands

Out and about
Without a doubt
Talking in hushed voices
Holding hands

Drinking wine
And dining fine
Our last romantic meal
Walking home holding hands

Now has come the time
To say a regrettable goodbye
Tears sadness and sorrow
No more holding hands
