Holding Each Other Again

Why do I allow your memories To send me to places I know I never thought in years gone by That I once again would dare go But I’ve traveled back there Only to find myself alone Even though I have so many around me My loneliness for now is meant to be If that’s what it takes to make you see That what was said to you Was just my heart longing to be free Of the deepest aching inside me I’ve written these words in poem form For some time I do my best to make them rhyme But mostly I do it to get out emotions Burning up within And to try to make some sane sense Of my situation in my mind I didn’t go into this quest to find you and to tell you blind I know the reality of circumstances And how consequences can be unkind You need to take a look all around you in order to find What you’ve been looking for all along That certain someone who never Could quite stay gone But instead of you pushing away Stay Let us face this together the way we did back then Let us once again try to begin To find the love we we’re destined to have Let us be strong I feel it this time we won’t go wrong To each other is where we belong Now we are older That though don’t make the world around us Any less colder We have to prove to ourselves and others Our love is bolder Then their belief, things perhaps caused by their grief This night is still and quiet now I don’t dare make a sound Yet my heart is screaming so loud My head once again stuck in the clouds My eyes closed and yep There it is a vivid memory Of you and me Never fails Every little detail It’s to this I’m forever bound Oh how I wish time could be wound To back then To fix things and let our hearts mend To not let it end So we would be Holding each other again
