Hold An Old Friend's Hand

if you are lonely and no around
tune in your ears for a soft re-assuring sound
                                                                                         The World is a Firecracker
                                                                                          Everyone on the phone
Tell that you are tired and yearn to go home

The rocking chair in which you sit
as those eyes begin to quit
                                            Who would still be here
Just a voice and a gentle soul without fear

It does not always make sense in this chaotic time
We feel the terror and the light that tries to blind
Who wants to route out all the innocence of the world
Friendship is like that but with an enemy flag so unfurled
Hold an old friend's hand during this period of woe
He(or She)will be your guide wherever you may go

                                                                                 Company of one another's thought
                                                                               Who would protect your idealism
                                                                               despite the ever-growing knot
that ties it self in strand of bind
Our world is close to losing it's
                                                                               purity mind

I can be with your pain that is there
no one else will no longer care
It is not the last rock that where you stand
Hear me now as you hold an old friend's hand
