History Under My Feet

For the millions of years
That we’ve been on this land
Creatures once traveled the
Meadows, mountains and sand.

They journeyed by foot
Once making their way
As they struggled along
Mother Nature’s highway.

When my feet touch the grass
And the brown path below
Did they once come this way?
I wish I could know.
