History Repeating Itself
Why did twice become two times?
Does anyone know why?
It doesn't make sense to me,
No matter how I try
To comprehend this change
Is impossible for me
I can't bend or rearrange
Twice to two times
And the necessity to do so
That puzzles me.
Why has the word history
Stayed the same
Has it refused to play
The politically correct game
History is sexist
Whatever that word means
Her story sounds wrong
And too superior or supreme
Their story would be too complex,
There would be too much to say
There would be questions,
From others asking, "Who are they?"
They are history,
Tales of the past
A word not to be tampered with
One that will last
Unless someone somewhere
With not enough to do,
And does not care
May change the word
And make history there.
